Not ready Yet - Performance en Helsinki

Being in Finland is not just a matter of "waw how cool is this country that everything works so good", but also "lets explore what is going on here" and that's not an easy job since I spend most of my time either working or searching for information for my Master Thesis...

Last Friday 7th of September, due a to personal recommendation, we had the opportunity to enjoy one of the performances by Willem Wilhelmus & Tomasz Szrama which was part of their project "Not ready yet"

The "show" had several parts, during the first one I took some snaps since I couldn't believe what I was seeing. It was so meaningful!

During the second part of the performance, after a coffee brake, they showed us some short videos of other performances the have recorded in Jangva gallery, my two favorites "Looking down" and one about the time (I can't remember the title, but the way of approaching time was just amazing).

The third and forth part held both short guests' performances and I couldn't snap them since the public was needed for the action.

I warmly recommend art lovers to have a glance over their websites, and, if possible, to come over Jangva gallery next Friday and see the final presentation. They might repeat what they did for the opening and I have heard (and seen on their websites' pictures) it was quite spectacular.

On our way back home, biking (of coouuurse), Finland presented us one more wonderful sunset. Although this is almost regular in Helsinki I can't avoid stopping over and taking some pictures, the feeling is just great.

Alvar Aalto - Iglesia de las Tres Cruces

Aprovechando la visita a Imatra , y puesto que éramos un grupo de estudiantes de arquitectura , el alcalde de la ciudad junto con los directivos de Fortum nos hicieron un tour en autobús por la ciudad con una simpática guía británica, y nos enseñaron, a parte de los 3 cascos urbanos que componen la ciudad, la Iglesia de las Tres Cruces de Alvar Aalto . Lo bueno de estar aquí es que hay cosas de Aalto por todos lados!!! Aalto Museum - Jyäskylä

From my point of view, the most amazing collection of Aalto philosophy of design is able to be found in the Aalto Museum of Jyväskylä . We went there couple of weekends ago, and it was, from the city, what I liked the most. It is located close to the University, it is sited on a slope leading down towards Lake Jyväsjärvi . Completed in 1973 , the building, together with the Museum of Central Finland (Alvar Aalto 1961) form a centre of culture in the vicinity of the University of Jyväskylä (Alvar Aalto 1951-1971). We had to pay a 2€ fee for the access, (with the student discount) and we were there for 2 hours (and another 45 minutes in the café), so trust me when I say that it is worth visiting. Ravintola Kosmos - Helsinki

Ravintola, para aquellos que no lo sepan, quiere decir Restaurante. Así pues, esta entrada trata sobre una de mis únicas cenas en restaurantes que, aprovechando la visita parental y sabiendo que con mi vida de estudiante cenar en un restaurante no entra dentro de mis quehaceres, aproveché para elegir uno de categoría. Lo encontré en la guía Lonely Planet (la cual recomiendo enormemente a futuros exploradores) y no dudé en comprobar lo que en la guía describían. La cena fue excelente , el precio tampoco es desorbitado, teniendo en cuenta que estamos en Finlandia y todo es unas 3 ó 5 veces más caro (excepto el alcohol, que es 10 veces más caro y en muchas ocasiones 10 veces peor que en España) Para que os hagáis una idea comimos 5 personas con 2 entrantes, cervezas (grandes), un plato cada uno y un postre para compartir.
